Many development companies providing services to the not-for-profit sector are undercapitalized and must rely upon outside sources to secure seed or to control land for the benefit of their not-for-profit clients. Greenbrier has the access to capital to alleviate this all-too-common problem. This gives us a distinct advantage over other development companies in the senior living sector."

Greenbrier President and CEO
Greenbrier Development, LLC was founded in February 2006 by four seasoned industry professionals that each made their mark in the senior housing industry while at Greystone Communities, Inc. Greenbrier’s founding partners are long-time leaders in the national development of entrance fee-based not-for-profit senior living communities that offer a full continuum of care. Collectively the team participated in the planning, financing and development of more than $2 billion of senior housing developments, including some of the largest and most exclusive communities in the country. They have a successful history of helping affinity-based not-for-profits structure projects consistent with their missions and goals, including some very small Continuing Care Retirement Communities challenged by limited economies of scale.
The partners recognized an opportunity in the senior housing industry to create a planning, development and management services consulting company that could bring capital to the table for the benefit of not-for-profit clients. In this way Greenbrier fills a void in the senior housing industry. The firm’s ability to partner with its clients and investment bankers for seed capital opportunities and land acquisitions and to lend its own funds to projects is a great benefit to its not-for-profit clients.
