Greenbrier’s management team are long-time national leaders in the planning, development, marketing and management of senior living communities. Over the past 16 years, they have been involved in the planning, development and marketing of more than $2 billion of senior living communities across the country with project budgets ranging from $10 million to more than $200 million.

Management

Mike Gilliam

Mike Gilliam, President and Chief Executive Officer, spent 16 years with Greystone Communities, Inc. prior to forming Greenbrier Development, LLC. At Greystone he led the planning and finance department and was responsible for Greystone’s consulting activities, planning engagements and financing coordination efforts as well as new business development. Prior to joining Greystone in 1990, Mike was a consultant at Deloitte and Touche. He earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Tom Navin

Tom Navin, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, spent six years with Greystone Communities, Inc. prior to forming Greenbrier Development, LLC. He was responsible for coordination of the full range of development services for his clients. Prior to joining Greystone in 2000, Tom was a development project manager responsible for the planning and development of 20 senior living communities and two prototype designs. He has 22 years of architectural, construction and development experience. Tom received a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois and is a registered architect in the State of Texas.

Barry Johnson

Barry Johnson, Senior Vice President of Marketing, joined Greenbrier Development, LLC in May 2006. Prior to joining Greenbrier, Barry spent more than six years with Classic Residence by Hyatt where he led the sales and marketing efforts for two of the premier senior living communities in the country. Prior to joining Hyatt in 1999, Barry spent eight years with Erickson Retirement Communities where he filled various roles including all aspects of marketing as well as assessing opportunities in new markets. Barry received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Michigan State University.

Cole Gray

Cole Gray, Senior Vice President of Planning and Finance, spent six years with Greystone Communities, Inc. before forming Greenbrier Development, LLC. At Greystone Cole was responsible for the coordination of planning and consulting services for clients as well as the coordination of financing activities. Prior to joining Greystone in 1999, he was a senior consultant with Navigant Consulting where he provided financial advisory services to clients involved in litigation and other disputes. He also worked as a management consultant for Chicago-based Gibson & Associates, Inc. Cole received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois.

Adam Heffernan

Adam Heffernan, Vice President of Planning and Finance, spent more than four years with Greystone Communities, Inc. before joining Greenbrier Development, LLC. At Greystone Adam was responsible for the coordination of planning and consulting services for clients as well as the coordination of financing activities. Prior to joining Greystone in 2001, he was a consultant with Peterson Consulting and Barrington Consulting, both divisions of Navigant Consulting, where he provided financial advisory services to clients involved in litigation and other disputes. Adam received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Finance from Texas A&M University.

Stephen Young

Stephen Young, Chief Financial Officer, was formerly Chief Financial Officer of Home Corporation International (HCI) where he was responsible for establishing and directing all financial and administrative functions for a startup encompassing five entities. Prior to joining HCI in 2003, Stephen was an independent financial and management consultant for small businesses in the Houston area. He gained 10 years experience in the senior housing industry as Director of Finance with Marriott, and as Controller for National Guest Homes, Inc. Stephen received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University and an Executive MBA from the University of Houston.

Brian Devlin

Brian Devlin, Vice President of Development, spent four years with Greystone Communities, Inc. prior to joining Greenbrier Development, LLC. He was responsible for the coordination and oversight of development services for multiple clients. Brian has managed the design and construction of startup senior living communities totaling more than 1.7 million square feet and $213 million in direct construction costs. Before joining Greystone, Brian was an associate at Chris Consultants, Inc. where he was involved in the development and design of country clubs throughout the country. Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Texas Tech University.
